  1. Heath Bell? A closer should never be on this list :(

  2. If it makes you feel better, he has thrown 225 more pitches in 3 less innings than the guy ahead of him on the list, Brad Ziegler. So by IP he is lazy, but he is the sweatiest lazy guy on the list by the time each of his .87 IP are done.

  3. Unless he pretty consistently fails to, you know, close. But perhaps that’s another form of laziness entirely …

  4. I don’t understand the 50 IP minimum on laziness. Shouldn’t it be a bit more lax? Randy Choate’s 33 IP in 64 appearances seems really lazy.

  5. No Boby Abreu on the fewest swings list? Something is broken here…

  6. So Clayton Richard is on a Leaderboard of Labor and a Leaderboard of Laziness. Well played sir.

  7. It’s only qualified hitters, and Abreu is no where near that. But yes, Abreu is at 35.40%.

  8. With Ramirez, Pierzynski, Viciedo, Rios and Beckham I was surprised to find no White Sox on the fewest pitches list.

  9. It’s almost like Ricke and Jemile have a brotherly bet going on about who can swing the lowest percentage of the time. Anyone wanna bet me on this?

  10. Not shocked Mauer leads the no swing list. He is notorious for watching the first pitch in every at bat.

  11. In Pierzynski’s case, the occasional 27-pitch at-bat goes a long way toward increasing his average.

  12. I would think that the laziest player is the one with the most Walks and the fewest Runs.
