  1. What about that time Zidane head-butted Marco Materazzi in the chest in the World Cup final? I would consider that an instance of wit demonstrated physically.

  2. That was certainly an instance of him solving a problem in surprising fashion. Unfortunately for him and France, the subsequent results were significantly less surprising.

  4. the hubris of wit is further demonstrated by the nemesis of ‘tHom: calling the play before it happens, and then exclaiming over something that did not quite happen.

  5. If it was Jonny Gomes making that play, his resounding yelp would have folded the universe in two

  8. One would assume the author exhibited wit in the mastication of his dagwood?

  9. I didn’t know what a Dagwood was, so I found the following sandwich overview:

“…it obviously contains large quantities and varieties of cold cuts, sliced cheese and vegetables separated by additional slices of bread. An olive pierced by a toothpick or wooden skewer usually crowns the edible superstructure.”

‘Edible superstructure’ may be the best food description I’ve ever encountered.

  10. i love how none of the announcers realized it was through his legs, not behind his back. between the legs is so much more awesome.
