Francoeur Denies Taylor Second Hit

Jeff Francoeur throws out Michael Taylor at first base from right field.

Your second major league hit was denied by getting thrown out by the right fielder. Yea… that sucks. I bet he remembers that one for a while. At least it wasn’t going to be his first major league hit.

Shows him he better hustle up to 2nd. If you’re name isn’t Carlos Delgado, Jorge Posada or pick a Molina, you should not be getting thrown out at first on a hit into the outfield.

Had to have been a perfect combination of hard-hit ball, slow running, excellent throwing arm, and quick thinking.

let me guess, your idea of wit is nothing more than an incisive observation, humorously phrased and delivered with impeccable timing?

This really deserves it’s own NotGraph post, but Jeff Francoeur was fueled by a cornucopia of bacon-themed food that night, homemade by fans:

He later threw said fans (a group that inhabits the right field bleachers at the Coliseum) a signed baseball wrapped in a $100 bill, signed, with this annotation: “Beer or bacon dog on me”.
