Nickname Seeks Player: Vote on “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons”

Blood has been spilled by the point of a rogue’s knife. Mead, gruel and pipeweed have been consumed. Elvish maidens have been consensually ravished. Orcs have filibustered. Owlbears have cut a murderous swath through the streets of America. And so the nomination process is complete. You may choose — carefully and at great personal hazard, of course — from the following 10 names. Who, villagers of Zargmoranathtauften, should be nicknamed “Advanced Dungeons & Dragons”?

Thank you for exercising the franchise.

I would like to submit into evidence this photo of Lincecum pretending to be a wizard in his Giants snuggie:

People should realize that R.A. does not stand for Robert Allen, but rather for “Really Advanced,” in which case if Dickey wins, he merely needs to hold the nickname “Dungeons & Dragons.”

Neil Walker didn’t make the cut. I’m not voting. Except maybe for R.A. Dickey.

It’s gotta be The Freak, Big Time Timmy Jimjam. That way, when players are whiffing at a curve ball dropping off the table, we can say that they are chasing the dragon. Gotta love a nickname that can lead to a reference of smoking heroin.

I would pay one million United States dollars for Curt Schilling to come out of retirement for one day just to claim this nickname.

Since he’s not around, though, I’m voting for Hafner, since he seemed like the greatest thing ever in the distant past and now nobody remembers he ever existed except a bunch of aging nerds on the inter… hey, wait…

Shouldn’t players with well established nicknames be exempt? Tim “The Freak of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons” Lincecum doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

This poll was insta-sabotaged when you put Eric Sogard up to the likes of RA Dickey. RA Dickey will win any nerd internet baseball fan poll.
