The 2016 Houston Astros
Upon hearing the news that Jeff Luhnow, the new General Manager of the Houston Astros, reads Baseball Prospectus and The Book and that 2. Keith Law recently interviewed for a position in the Astros front office, I have found a deeply repressed wellspring of optimism. Does this optimism derive from a single player on the Astros team or in their farm system? No. Does it derive from the fact that the Astros will, after next year, be battling in the more difficult American League, as well as playing in the same division as Albert Pujols (again)? No. Does it derive from an unapologetic personal bias towards executives who understand WAR? Yes, it does. That optimism has, for me, painted a picture of the future. This is what that picture looks like:

Great hat, but only if they make me Nationals beat writer.
Speaking of which, congratulations on escaping the Nationals League!
Who’s the cute woman in the picture?
lance berkman
It is a sad commentary that it may be 2016 before the Astros begin to see daylight again. I will say that adding Berkman as an assistant coach sounds pretty savvy to me.
The new beat writer appears to be wearing no pants.
The new beat writer is wearing a skirt, damnit!
How can you tell and how short is the skirt? Do you think we could get a different picture of said skirt on said beat writer?
prospectors… sheesh.
Bagwell as a “new” HoF in 2016 is a complete injustice and crying shame for any one who has a vote. Give me a break. Black balling him without zero proof is a joke. He should’ve been inducted on his first attempt.
Obviously, I agree with you. Unfortunately, public ballot tallying makes it look like Bagwell isn’t getting in this year either. It’s a damn shame and pisses me off, but I’m holdin out hope for a killer bs double induction in 2013. Anyway, I didn’t neccessarilly mean to imply the boys wouldn’t be getting in til 2016, just that they’d be Relatively new HOFers, or new-since-now HOFers. :)
I didn’t mean to come off as rude I was just voicing my overall frustration of this scenario of Bagwell getting the shaft by the writers.
