Observed: Ben Revere Hit a Homer and We’re All Doomed

Can’t talk. Grabbing my go bag. Gotta lay low for a while, until this shit blows over. Stay frosty. Trust no one. Remember your training. I’ll see you on the other side.

I’ve seen Ben Revere hit batting practice home runs back when he was a Twin, and they all pretty much looked identical to this one.

I recognize two of the phrases as being from the Bourne Trilogy. Is one from Star Wars? The rest escape me.

I’m sure young Ben Revere dreamed of this moment. Atta boy.

“It’s a good feeling,” Revere said. “When I got to second base, I didn’t know what to do. I was trying not to smile but some guys got on me. It was fun. I’ll try to hit 400 more.”

I will be at the game tonite, at which I expect Revere to go 7-9 with 3 HRs and 19 RBI in a 21-20 Phillies loss.

No need to panic. According to the prophesies this is only like the third seal. Big whup. Wake me up when a Dodgers pitcher finally has a no-hitter.

    Swear allegiance to the flag
    Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
    Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still
