PROPOSAL: New Ballpark for the Cardinals *wink*

I noticed something today, with my eyes and brain. Take a look at this picture and tell me if you see/think what I saw/thought:

Vatican

Actual don’t tell me. Just keep reading. Here’s what happened in my brain, the brain filling your brain with words and pictures that are unrelated to the work you should be doing:

VaticanBASEBALL

Sometimes I think in mint green and giant, bright red MS Paint arrows.

Amazingly, if the Cardinals (of the Catholic Church! Hence the *wink*! Terrific!) wanted to build, say, Busch Stadium, on that plot of land, all they’d have to do is demolish some probably extraneous buildings. (specifically the Eagle Fountain, Gallinari Tower, Mater Ecclesiae Convent, and Vatican Radio. Plus the entire English Garden) Busch Stadium would literally fit in that ballpark-shaped piece of Vatican.

Confront your retinas with this to-scale image:

Pope Francis is progressive, right? Well, whenever baseball infatuates all nations and the Vatican pines for its own ballclub, someone can direct Mr. Pontifex to this post so that he knows he, too, can fit a major league-sized ballpark in his country.

They could have an exhibition game against the Metropolitans.

Instead of beer they could serve the blood of Christ.
And instead of the singing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” they could sing various hymns.
And instead of a ballpark, they could have strippers and blackjack.

Pope Francis is progressive, right?

About the same amount as Benedict was. Francis has a different style, but his beliefs and policies nearly identical.
