Both Belated and Urgent Jayson Werth Bat-Flip Coverage

This coverage of Jayson Werth‘s bat flip from Wednesday night — which bat flip directly proceeded a grand slam against Miami’s Carlos Marmol — is belated in the sense that ca. 18 hours have passed since it actually happened.

This coverage of Jayson Werth’s bat flip remains urgent, however, in the sense that is evoked by Foreigner in their uberhit “Urgent” from 1981’s 4 — which is to say, a powerfully carnal urgency.

One senses that Jayson Werth won’t stop until he does this again, is the idea. One senses that his desire is insane — or, if not insane, at least pretty unreasonable.

This needs to be reversed so Jayson Werth can be revealed as the Jedi that he is.

From that gif, it appears Carlos Marmol is actually the Jedi

Apropos of this belated NotGraphs coverage of Werth, the musical version of NotGraphs, Dangerous Minds, just recently posted this fascinating belated coverage of Foreigner. http://dangerousminds.net/comments/foreigner_fed_up_with_all_the_bland_music_everywhere_1980

UPDATE: Werth’s insane desires are warranted. He has homered against the Marlins in today’s (i.e., Thursday’s) contest as well. So as to not hog all the glory, he kept his homer a reasonable 2-run affair, and allowed Esteemed Teammate Ian Desmond to hit a grand slam instead. Cavemanners.
