Spotted: MLB.TV on My PlayStation 3

The grainy image embedded here (the sort of image that one could, if one were so inclined, embiggen merely by clicking) is intended to indicate not only that (a) the author is a lifelong subscriber to The Good Life, but also that (b) MLB.TV now appears to be live on PlayStation 3 — which, by the Transitive Property of Home Electronics, suggests that it’s now available on other connected devices (Apple TV, Roku, Xbox 360), as well.

The audio options appear to be functional, too: I listened to part of Tuesday’s Red Sox game with the audio feed from Red Sox Television, and then switched over later to Red Sox Radio.

    • Oh yeah, MLB.TV has been available on connected devices for at least a few years. It’s just, MLB.TV was limited to computers, iPads, and iPhones so far this spring. Yesterday (I think) was the first day that 2012 games were available on other devices, like PS3.

      • if i’m not mistaken… the ps3 app was up in late 2010 (that’s the main reason why i bought one.
then some other devices joined like tv’s with internet connection (LG), apple TV and others… this year is the first year for the Xbox…

Question for you MLB.TV guys. I order the MLB Extra Innings through my cable provider, I was thinking of switching to MLB.TV through Apple TV. I live in a different time zone from the team I follow, so I generally DVR the games and watch later at night after work. How quickly are the games archived? If a game has already started, can I start in on the first inning or have to wait for it to be archived? Thanks. I didnt know where to ask these question, I tried the FAQ and didnt seem to find the answers.

You need to order MLB.tv Premium for Apple TV and that comes with the DVR function. You can restart the game while it’s in progress.

Anyone else having problems with the radio feed? I listen to the radio feed and it’s several seconds ahead of the TV, announcing what is happening before I see it. Is there a way around this?
