Do Saves Factor Into WAR?

+1 vote
I noticed Chapman and Kimbrel hold the #1 and #2 slot in RP WAR and was wondering... is that due their save counts?  I'm aware of their stellar peripheral stats, but simply put... are saves factored into WAR?

Thanks in advance!

No, they are not. Here is an excellent primer on how pitcher's WAR is calculated at Fangraphs:

Saves are not directly involved, but leverage is.  Pitchers get more credit/blame in save situations, since they are usually high leverage outings.
Thanks for the explanation! Sounds like a high RP WAR is more of a biproduct of them holding the closer's role due to the increased leverage.
So, given the same number of innings and peripheral stats, a lower leverage reliever cannot achieve the same WAR?
