Are Park Adjustments Only For Home Park?

0 votes
Let's say you are doing the per PA park adjustment:

If a ballpark has a PF of 102 then the adjustment is something like .0023 per PA (2% change in R/PA). Is this the resulting equation:

((wRAA/PA) - (park adj/PA))*PA

For Miggy that would be:

((68.4/632) -(.0023))*632 = 70.8

Except his BAT is 68.4

Basically my question is whether the 102 park adjustment is multiplied by all his plate appearances, or just his home PA? Is each PA separately computed on the backend by what ballpark they take place in?

The Park Factor is already "halved" for you in the GUTS section, so Comerica has a 4% effect on runs, and we assume the batter sees half of his PA's at home and half away.

Ideally you might want to use park factors the way you are describing (per each PA) but that would be a lot of code for only a marginal improvement I imagine.
