ZiPS ROS likes Perez's AVG by about 20 points over Montero. It's tough to turn away from such a known quantity (Montero) though, especially in that ballpark.

Also, fwiw, it's slightly odd that Perez hasn't taken a walk yet. I feel like that's the kind of thing that will catch up with him at some point (similar to Josh Hamilton's last 100 ABs) whereby pitchers recognize he's hacking and give him fewer pitches to hit.

How come everyone goes by ZiPs so much? When Rizzo came up it projected him 4 HR for the rest of the season hitting .230. Now he already has 4HR and suddenly ZiPs jumps to a projection of 9HR. Perez just hit his 4th of the season going opposite field off of Max Sherzer R on R. Perez can hit 5 to 10 more with how good of an eye he has and how strong he is. ZiPs is so hard to rely on.
