Profile: Ben Revere hit .305, .306, and .306 in 2013, 2014, and 2015, but an oblique injury led to a forgettable 2016 season with the Nationals in which he hit just .217 and lost his starting job to rookie sensation Trea Turner.  Revere’s entire game is built around speed.  He was third in baseball with 176 stolen bases between 2011 and 2015 behind only Dee Gordon and Rajai Davis, and even his consistently high batting average is built on speed.  His 62.8 percent groundball rate over the same period trailed only Everth Cabrera among qualified hitters.  This is all a long way of me saying that I think Revere is an excellent bounce-back candidate.  Revere is still just 28 years old, his oblique injury is behind him, and his one-year prove-it deal with the Angels affords him an excellent opportunity to regain a starting job behind often-injured Cameron Maybin in left field.  Even if Revere settles into more of a platoon role as a fourth outfielder, Revere hits from the good side of the platoon, and he has the speed to contribute even in limited playing time.  Revere has fallen from a top 150 player to undrafted, but I don’t view him as a different player than he was a year ago.  I think he’s an excellent late-round flier.  (Scott Spratt)

The Quick Opinion: An oblique injury led to the worst year in Ben Revere’s career in 2016, but he is still young and landed in a good situation to bounce back.  Expect a .300 batting average and 20 steals in a part-time role with the Angels with the upside for 40 steals if he regains a starting job.
