Profile: Kintzler went from Blaine Boyer 2.0 to closing games for the Twins down the stretch rather inexplicably, but he handled himself well in the role and is probably the favorite to close games for the team to open 2017. Kintzler isn't overpowering, but he has pinpoint placement on a bowling-ball sinker that he'll run into the mid-90s and average around 92-93 mph with. He'll mix in a slider and curveball every now and then to break up the monotony, but mostly it's sinker-sinker-sinker, reminiscent of a copycat of Zach Britton (to a much lesser extent, of course). It works for Kintzler, however, as he has a career ground ball rate of 58.6% which went to over 60% in 54.1 innings with the Twins this season after he was added to the 40-man roster. He makes more sense as a middle-inning fireman with his ability to induce grounders, but for now as the current Twins bullpen is constructed, he might get a chance to reprise his role from the home stretch in 2016. Don't gamble on him keeping it, though. (@Brandon_Warne)

The Quick Opinion: Kintzler is Mr. Right Now, not Mr. Right in the back of the Minnesota bullpen. He could be a sneaky pick-up-and-flip early in the season, but it's very, very unlikely he closes the whole season for the Twins in 2017. There's too much talent on the way.
