News: Young was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis: Rusty Ryal was called up from the Aces to replace Young on the roster. The D-Backs will likely slide Gerardo Parra over to center field, while Ryan Roberts may see extra at-bats in the corner outfield spots until Justin Upton and/or Eric Byrnes are back from the DL.

News: Young (groin) is not in the starting lineup against Texas on Wednesday.

Analysis: Unless it's a matchup-based decision -- which we're guessing it's not -- the D-Backs may have to consider putting him on the DL if he's struggling to make progress toward a return. Young hasn't played since suffering the injury while running the bases on June 18. If the D-Backs were to put him on the DL retroactively, he'd be eligible to return July 4.
