| News: Lowrie, on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket, was forced to leave Wednesday night's game because of pain in his surgically repaired left wrist, the Boston Herald reports. |
| Analysis: Lowrie had mashed three homers in the first two games of his rehab assignment before leaving Wednesday's game. "He said it was similar to what he felt before," Pawtucket manager Ron Johnson said. "I don't think it's going to be a major thing. I'm not a medical guy. I probably shouldn't get into this ballpark. But you know when you have a surgery done, there are going to be days when it's going to feel different. I think he had some anxiety going on, so we just shut it down." It would be nice for Lowrie if he can make it back in September and salvage something from this season, however the Red Sox do no need him to rush back and may take the cautious road with his return. |
