News: Major League Baseball banned Jeffress for 100 games for a second failed drug test, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

Analysis: Jeffress, rated as one of the top arms in the Brewers' system, had previously tested positive for marijuana so he was tested more frequently. MLB said he tested positive for a "substance of abuse," not steroids, so his minor league numbers should not be considered dubious. The 100-game ban will run into next season.
