Nate Robertson???

Earlier today, Robert Dudek reported here the leaders in strikeout percentage for the AL and NL. Most of the lists included the guys you’d expect, but the very first name floored me — heading into today, Tigers southpaw Nate Robertson led the entire American League in strikeout percentage, and by a decent margin.

He’s pitching right now, shutting out Seattle through six innings. Robertson has only 3 strikeouts in those 6 frames, so his strikeout percentage will go down, but he’s now got 52 strikeouts in 48 innings this season, which is damn good.

And yes, I know that Nate Robertson pitched for Wichita State. I can’t help it — when stuff’s going on with the Shockers, I can’t resist discussing it here.
