Profile: Jennings' numbers are a bit deceptive no matter how you look at them. As a lefty who made 64 appearances but only threw 60.2 innings, Jennings would be easy to label as a specialist. Maybe that's true in terms of how he was used, considering he faced 99 lefties and just 160 righties, but it didn't bear true in his numbers. Sure, Jennings had a slight .654-.694 on-base-plus-slugging-against advantage against lefties, but there wasn't the disparate split one might expect from a LOOGY. But sometimes those things are just seasonal, right? Not in Jennings' case; he's allowed a career .704 OPS to lefties and a .700 mark to righties, including an identical .364 slugging percentage to each side. Basically, he's been just so-so against both sides but has managed to keep slugging percentages down. That's not terribly surprising considering he's posted a ground ball rate of 54% through 217 major league innings, including seeing a spike at 65.1 in 2015. Jennings also isn't really a soft-tossing lefty — 91.7 mph average heater in his career — but also doesn't really strike anyone out (7.3 career strikeouts per nine innings) and has spotty command (4.0 walks per nine innings). At this point, he's a paradox, but one who has a career 2.74 ERA through five seasons with the Marlins and White Sox. He can get swings and misses with his slider, keeps the ball on the ground and ergo in the park, and can erase walks with double plays. It's a weird skill set, but it works for him. As far as fantasy goes.....¯\_(?)_/¯ (@Brandon_Warne)

The Quick Opinion: In a possibly unsettled White Sox bullpen, it still doesn't seem terribly likely that Jennings will carry too high-leverage of a role. It's safe to look elsewhere.
