Lineup Analysis (6/3/23)

American League

Angels

Hunter Renfroe has sat in two of the last five games. He might have joined Taylor Ward and Mickey Moniak in an timeshare for two outfield spots.

Jared Walsh (vs RHP) and Luis Rengifo (vs LHP) are in a platoon.

Astros

Jake Meyers (.730 OPS), Chas McCormick (.710 OPS), and Corey Julks (.673 OPS) are sharing two outfield spots.

Athletics

Ryan Noda (.841 OPS, 6 HR, 2 SB) has started four straight at first base since Jesús Aguilar was released.

Blue Jays

Cavan Biggio (1.128 OPS, 2 HR over the last two weeks) has started four straight games. He might just be giving everyone a break.

Will Brennan (vs RHP) and Gabriel Arias (vs LHP) are in a right field platoon.

Mariners

Jose Caballero (.726 OPS, 2 HR, 6 SB) has started in seven of the last 10 games.

Rangers

• Steady.

Rays

• Same with the three regulars (Diaz, Arozarena, and Franco) and then everyone else splitting time.

Red Sox

• Steady.

Nick Pratto has led off four straight games.

Twins

• Since Kepler and Lewis came off the IL, Willi Castro has started in two of four games.

Giants

• SNAFU

Marlins

Jonathan Davis (.308/.400/.500, 1 HR, 1 SB, 31 PA) has started in seven of the last eight games in center field. There is no power breakout (career .071 ISO) occurring with most of StatCast power metrics down.

• They’ve been cycling players around with Carlos Santana missing time.

McNeil was a bit banged up-why he sat. He’s still an everyday guy.
