Alex Wood gets so under appreciated, and people are so quick to pull the plug on him. His ownership percentage has dropped nearly 10% on ESPN. The guy owns a career 3.32 ERA. You say the bottom fell out last season, but he still finished with a 2.72 era and a 1.06 whip, which is insane for someone you plucked off waivers. No pitcher is going to throw a sub 2 era all season like he was doing in the first half. Now fast forward to this year. He’s pitched great. He’s only given up more than 3 runs in four starts this year. His whip is still below 1.20 despite those blows ups.

He got his tits lit vs the Rockies, but that was expected and he should not have been in lineups. It was at Coors and the Rockies lineup hits over .300 against him. The same goes for Atlanta. Their lineup hits .300+ vs him, and he still held them to 2 runs. Gave up a ton of hits, but again, he probably shouldn’t have been in your lineup. He just had an unlucky scheduling of two teams back to back that have his number.

If you have Wood, be patient, he’s great. If Wood is available, go pick him up now. If you don’t have Wood, try and buy low. Give the man his due!

Alex Wood is a straight Rodney Dangerfield pitcher. IDK what he has to do to be valued where he’s been performing for the last 2 years
