We moved the notice about the John Brattain Memorial Fund from our home page to John’s author page. Understandably, donations for John’s family have stopped coming in, but we will leave the fund open for those who still want to remember John and assist his family.

Altogether, 142 people contributed to John’s fund, with donations ranging from a couple of dollars to more than $100. This is a fitting tribute to John’s legacy, and his family truly appreciates the support. John’s wife, Kelly, couldn’t respond to each individual donor, but she asked us to pass on this message:

I would like to thank everyone for all the condolences. The outstanding response we have received from all his writing contacts was overwhelming. As you can see… I personally am not much of a writer. In circumstances like this I am at a loss for words as I don’t know how to express the grief we feel. John’s writing career was just beginning to flourish. He was an all around nice guy who would bend over backwards for anyone and absolutely loved what he did. Until this time I had no idea how many people knew him or to what level his writing had achieved. It would have been nice to see what it would have eventually developed into. Please let everyone there know how thankful we are!
