| Analysis: Pineiro is reportedly seeking a deal similar to the three-year, $29.75 million contract Randy Wolf signed with the Brewers. Pineiro is coming his best season as a professional, going 15-12 with a 3.49 ERA for St. Louis, his first season with under 4.00 ERA since 2003. In addition, many feel that Pineiro will regress outside of St. Louis when he is no longer working with pitching coach Dave Duncan, and with the market tight, he is unlikely to find a three-year deal, especially at the dollars he wants, anywhere. |
