News: Ransom suffered a quad injury while running the bases on Friday night and is headed to the DL, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Analysis: Ramiro Pena replaced Ransom at third base and presumably will play there most of the time until Alex Rodriguez returns.
Monday, April 13, 2009
News: Ransom has opened the season 1-for-20 (.050) as the regular third baseman in place of Alex Rodriguez.
Analysis: He's also struck out in 35 percent of those at-bats, while drawing just two walks. Ransom's playing time will fall off completely once Alex Rodriguez (hip) returns to action in a few weeks, but for now, the Yankees don't seem to be inclined to replace him with Ramiro Pena.
