News: Miles (elbow) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list Monday, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Analysis: The Cubs recalled outfielder Sam Fuld from Triple-A Iowa to replace Miles on the roster. Miles is not expected to spend more than the 15 days on the disabled list.

News: Miles could be the favorite for the starting second base job early on, though both he and Mike Fontenot are slated to get roughly 400 at-bats each, the Cubs' web site reports.
Analysis: This is just according to MLB.com's team beat writer, but it's based on manager Lou Piniella ticking off his projected lineup and putting Miles second. This is far from set in stone, and we think Fontenot has far more upside as a hitter, but we can't ignore how the team's manager seems to be leaning.
