News: Bonser had surgery to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder and will likely miss the entire 2009 season, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Analysis: Bonser had exploratory surgery on Wednesday and doctors found more damage than was expected. With this news, Philip Humber likely makes the bullpen as the long reliever. Bonser was out of options, so the only good news here is the Twins will be able to keep him on the DL all season.

News: Bonser says he'll need surgery on his ailing right shoulder after undergoing an MRI, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "They're going to have to go in and clean it out," he said.

Analysis: He'll likely start the season on the DL, which opens a spot for Philip Humber to make the bullpen in a long relief role.
