News: Molina has signed a one-year deal to return to the Giants for the 2010 season, CBS 5 in San Francisco reports.
Analysis: The contract is believed to be worth $4.5 million, so the Giants appear to have received a decent deal when you consider that Molina was initially seeking a multi-year contract. In the short term, Buster Posey's value takes a hit, but Molina should return to the middle third of the Giants' lineup and serve as a catcher more valuable to fantasy owners than to his club thanks to his RBI opportunities and home-run count masking his dreadfully low on-base percentage.

News: The Mets and Molina are inching closer to a deal and may have an agreement on a two-year contract by the end of the week, the NY Post reports.
Analysis: The Mets had been wedded to one year plus an easily obtainable vesting option for a second year while Molina was locked into wanting three years. With the market drying up, Molina is now willing to accept a two-year deal but the question is whether GM Omar Minaya will move to a guaranteed two-year contract, which now appears likely.
