News: Gutierrez will be sidelined at least a couple days after bruising his left elbow, left knee and ribs on his left side when he crashed into the Comerica Park outfield wall Tuesday, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Gutierrez dove for a fly ball, hitting the video scoreboard at Comerica head first. Unfortunately, the ball popped out of his mitt on impact. He's lucky, though, he wasn't seriously injured. "I hit so hard, it felt like I hit rock," he said. Gutierrez will sit out for at least a couple days.

News: Gutierrez suffered contusions to his left knee and left elbow in his collision with the center field wall in Tuesday's loss to the Tigers, the Mariners' official site reports. He's officially day-to-day with the injuries, but probably won't play on Wednesday.
Analysis: Fortunately, it looks as if he avoided a concussion. The Mariners are hopeful that Gutierrez can return on Thursday. "It all depends on how [the injuries] respond tomorrow," manager Don Wakamatsu said. "He got hit on his head, elbow and knee at the same time. He almost made an amazing catch. But he was pretty dazed from the collision [with the wall]."
