News: Soto (strained oblique) remains on target to return the first week of August, the Cubs' web site reports.
Analysis: If that's the case he will have missed 3-to-4 weeks with the injury. In the meantime, Koyie Hill will continue to start with Jake Fox as the team's backup.

News: Soto is heading to the 15-day disabled list due to a left oblique strain, the Cubs' official site reports.
Analysis: The move was made retroactive to Tuesday, when Soto last played, but the catcher could be out for up to a month. No corresponding roster move has been made, but the Cubs may look to trade to add a serviceable player. Jake Fox will be the emergency backup to Koyie Hill for Friday's game.
