News: Martinez will catch when Tim Wakefield (calf, back) is activated to start on Wednesday, the Boston Herald reports.
Analysis: This will be the first time Martinez has been asked to catch a knuckler, and probably won't be the last. A report in the Boston Globe states that the plan at catcher is for Jason Varitek to catch Josh Beckett and Jon Lester, leaving Wakefield, Clay Buchholz and Junichi Tazawa for Martinez. There may be other circumstances entering the decision of who catches in a particular game, but you should expect Martinez' bat to be in the lineup most every night whether catching, playing first base or as designated hitter.

News: Martinez will be in the starting lineup on Sunday, catching for Clay Buchholz, the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis: Martinez made his Red Sox debut Saturday night, playing first base, and we'll likely see different lineups every night as manager Terry Francona tries to keep guys fresh and get big hitters like Martinez in there. There's a possibility we'll be seeing less and less of Jason Varitek and Mike Lowell to accommodate getting Martinez's bat in the daily lineup.
