News: Hernandez won his 18th game Tuesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and four walks in 7.2 innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: Hernandez, who also hit two batters, was tiring in the eighth but the Mariners gave him a little longer rope than usual, throwing a season-high 120 pitches. He gave up two hits, a walk and a sac fly and hit a batter before being lifted. Not as dominant as his other recent starts, but it was his 23rd quality start in his last 24 games. He has one more start remaining.

News: Hernandez, who struck out nine in seven innings Tuesday, experienced leg cramps for the second straight start, but it is not considered serious, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: The cramps started in the fifth inning, but didn't cause any problems -- Hernandez allowed just one measly single in the final three frames. Hernandez was a little wild early, using 40 pitches in the first two innings in which he allowed four of his six baserunners. He said that was because he did not play catch on Monday's off day so it took him a little while to find his groove.
