News: J.J. Hardy's trade to the Twins means that Escobar is assured of the starting shortstop job in 2010.
Analysis: Escobar was very likely the starter anyway, but this just cements it. He won't hit for much power, but he brings top notch defense and can steal about 20 bases.

News: The Brewers promoted Escobar from Triple-A Nashville Wednesday, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The promotion came hand-in-hand with J.J. Hardy's demotion to Nashville, so we would assume Escobar takes over daily duties at shortstop. Escobar had a .298/.353/.409 line with 42 steals in his first season at Triple-A.
