News: Grudzielanek was released by the Twins after hitting .267 (8-for-30) in eight games for Double-A New Britain, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Analysis: The Twins were apparently not impressed by his defense. It looks like the Twins will try to get by with Nick Punto and Alexi Casilla at second base. However, the Twins have among the worst offensive output at second base in the majors. This may be the end of Grudzielanek's career.

News: Grudzielanek signed a minor league contract with Minnesota, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "We are still hoping Alexi Casilla is going to take the second base job and run with it. Thats our first choice, that he can bring energy and spark our lineup. This gives us another option," said GM Bill Smith.
Analysis: The Twins have struggled to find production out of the second base spot all season (.512 OPS combined) and it's not hard to see them turning to Grudzielanek once he's ready to play in the majors. He'll likely need several weeks in the minors before he's ready.
