News: Izturis (appendectomy) will miss two or three weeks, the Orioles' official site reports.

Analysis: Izturis is expected to be placed on the 15-day DL prior to Sunday's game so the team could recall Oscar Salazar from Triple-A Norfolk. Salazar and Robert Andino would split time at short while Izturis is DL'd.

News: Izturis' CT scan revealed that he has appendicitis, and he will undergo an appendectomy on Friday night, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Analysis: Apparently Izturis has been dealing with stomach pains for several days but didn't notify the team until Friday. Although it's still unknown how long Izturis will be out, a trip to the disabled list seems likely. Robert Andino started in Izturis' place Friday and will probably benefit the most from Izturis' ailment.
