News: Hochevar held the Rangers to two runs (three earned) on five hits in seven innings Saturday to pick up his sixth win. He struck out 13 and did not walk any.
Analysis: The only real blemishes in this one were Hochevar's two wild pitches, one of which allowed Ian Kinsler to score from third. He was allowed to throw 114 pitches (76 strikes), but he threw 110+ a few times last season. Hochevar has not lost since June 18, not an easy feat considering the offense that supports him. He has allowed five home runs in four July starts, but he also has a 30:3 K:BB in the month.

News: Hochevar was rocked in his 2009 season debut Tuesday night at Oakland. After his recall from Triple-A Omaha Sunday, Hochevar gave up eight runs, all earned, in two innings.
Analysis: Hochevar also got torched in his debut last year at Oakland (6 ER in 4.2 IP), then rebounded with four quality starts. The Royals' prospect surely will improve after this fiasco.
