News: Sanchez threw a no-hitter against the Padres on Friday night, allowing just one baserunner on an error by Juan Uribe. He struck out 11, walking none.
Analysis: While Sanchez has wicked stuff and the Padres' lineup is as docile as it gets, how unlikely was this result? The part that's so striking is the lack of walks. Sanchez also kept his pitch count down, finishing off the game in 110 pitches.

News: The Giants are considering moving Sanchez to the bullpen, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: "He's got to get better with his secondary pitches," manager Bruce Bochy said. "The changeup, the breaking ball. It doesn't matter how hard you throw. You watch Timmy (Lincecum) and Matt Cain. What makes them so good is, they can throw any pitch at any time. That's what Jonathan is missing right now." If the Giants decide to shift him to relief work (rather than expose him to waivers by attempting to send him to Triple-A), Billy Sadler and Kevin Pucetas are two of the potential options from Fresno that could temporarily replace him.
