| Analysis: Manager Jerry Manuel acknowledged being "terribly concerned," that Santana had experienced pain in the elbow in recent starts though "not at this level," the level he experienced in his most recent start, Thursday against the Braves. Santana will see Dr. David Altchek to have his elbow examined and that sound you hear is the panic in every Mets fan. Ed Coleman on WFAN added that Santana has been dealing with a sore back, not throwing between starts, and has seen a drop in his velocity. It's possible that Santana altered his motion to compensate for the sore back, causing the elbow issue, but more will be known following the exam. |
