News: Johnson (hip, wrist, elbow) is not expected to be ready for spring training, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Johnson is firmly the No. 1 catcher after Kenji Johjima opted out of his contract Monday, but manager Don Wakamatsu said Johnson probably won't be ready for spring training after four offseason surgeries. The Mariners are going to have to find a free-agent catcher to bring to camp.

News: Johnson would have gotten Sunday off because it was a day game following a night game, but he also tweaked a groin muscle on Saturday, the Seattle Times reports.
Analysis: Jamie Burke started in place of Johnson and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout. We might not get an update on Johnson's status until close to game time on Monday, with the Mariners traveling to Chicago.
