News: General manager J.P. Riccardi could not say whether McGowan (shoulder) will throw in the majors again, the Jays' official site reports.
Analysis: McGowan began a throwing program about a month ago, but he has not progressed from that point. "He's playing catch. He can't get beyond playing catch right now," Riccardi said. His status for this season looks pretty dubious, and those who have him stashed in multi-year leagues should begin to get nervous.

News: McGowan (shoulder) could very likely miss the entire season as he continues to battle shoulder discomfort, the team's official site reports.
Analysis: "I don't know when he's going to come back, I really don't," manager Cito Gaston said. "I'm not sure if he's going to come back at all this year. Let's hope he does, but I'm not sure. It's just taking longer to get him back to where he needs to be. He still has some pain in it, so there's no sense in pushing him and just set him back further." You can bet the Jays will be cautious with him in his recovery and rehab program. If you're expecting something out of McGowan this season you may be disappointed.
