News: Patterson is expected to take over in the A's outfield for the departed Matt Holliday, the team's web site reports.
Analysis: Patterson showed good speed at Triple-A Sacramento with 34 steals and these aren't the never-stealing A's of the past. Patterson's worth a look in larger leagues given his expected semi-regular presence in the A's lineup.
