News: Sowers held the Mariners scoreless over seven innings Saturday to pick up his third win of the year.
Analysis: He only struck out two in his 104 pitches (66 strikes), but the Mariners only managed six base runners against him. Note that he threw five scoreless innings against the Rays on May 25 (that crazy 11-10 game), and that did not signal future success.

News: Sowers will be recalled from Triple-A and start Thursday against Boston, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Analysis: General manager Mark Shapiro said that the move was an effort to bolster a bullpen that has blown more saves and allowed more long balls than any other in the AL. To make move for Sowers in the rotation, Aaron Laffey will move to the bullpen. The team will have to make a corresponding move to make room on the 25-man roster following Wednesday's game.
