News: Bruce homered twice and knocked in five runs in the Reds' win over the Cardinals on Tuesday night. Bruce credits his recent surge to an adjustment in his batting stance, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis: Though he's not hitting for average this year, the two homers gave Bruce 22 on the season, in 96 games. As for the adjustment, he's stopped "double-tapping" his foot when batting. Whether this adjustment is the reason for his recent surge or just a matter of his natural talent coming through, we expect better results from Bruce next year.

News: Bruce (wrist, groin) has rejoined the Reds from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville, after they were eliminated from the playoffs, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis: It's uncertain how much exactly Bruce will play, given that he had to miss one playoff game with the groin injury. He is not in Monday night's lineup.
