Some statistical Help

First, I was wondering what the dollar value for each player was based off of. Is there a salary cap that these numbers are meant to be reflective of?

Second, I am loving the site more and more, but there are a ton of statistics that aren't reflected within the glossary. Are there any sites that are better than most for describing what a bunch of these stats mean and how they are calculated?

    Thanks

The dollar value is explained here:

The basic idea is that you look at every free agent signing for that year, add up the total money spent on those players to see how much teams are spending to buy wins on the open market, and then project all those players' combined win value. Then you can divide to see what teams were spending per win on the free agent market. A player's dollar value is just his WAR times the dollar value per win for that season by that method.

A lot of the stats are from work done around the web. Google would probably be the closest thing to having all of it in one place, unless you have something specific you are unsure of.
